Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the New York Strip steak out of the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Generously season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Add the steak to the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. If using garlic and rosemary, add them to the pan during the last minute of cooking for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This will help retain the juices.

  6. 6

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve with your choice of sides.
