Method

Preparation of Fish

  1. 1

    Prepare the Yellowtail Hamachi

Ensure the Yellowtail Hamachi is fresh and sashimi-grade. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut the fish into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick, and arrange on a serving platter.

Marinade

  1. 2

    Make the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well until everything is combined.

  2. 3

    Marinate the Fish

Pour the marinade over the sliced Yellowtail Hamachi and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. This will enhance the flavors of the fish.

Serving

  1. 4

    Serve the Hamachi

Once marinated, remove the fish from the refrigerator. Arrange the slices back onto the serving platter. Drizzle some of the marinade over the top.

  2. 5

    Add Garnishes

Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the fish. Add microgreens or cilantro for freshness. Serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra zesty flavor.
