Dumpling Dough

Cooking

Method

Dumpling Dough

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the water while mixing with your hands or a wooden spoon until a rough dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling

  1. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Assembling Gyoza

  1. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Moisten the edges with water, fold the dough over the filling, and pinch to seal tightly.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Deep-Fry the Gyoza

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the gyoza in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

  2. 7

    Steam the Gyoza

Add 1 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Allow the gyoza to steam for about 5-7 minutes until the water has evaporated.

  3. 8

    Serve

Remove the gyoza from the skillet and serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
