Chicken Marinade
Garnish
Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until the brown sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for best flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F or 190-200°C).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the marinade. Grill the chicken breasts for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Let it Rest
Once cooked, transfer the grilled chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Serving
- 6
Slice and Garnish
Slice the grilled chicken into strips and sprinkle with sesame seeds and additional sliced green onions before serving.
