Ingredients for Salmon Teriyaki

Method

Directions for Preparing Salmon Teriyaki

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of rice with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Salad

While the rice is cooking, rinse the mixed salad greens and place them in a large bowl. Slice the cucumber and cherry tomatoes, and add them to the bowl. Toss gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  5. 5

    Grill the Salmon

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Add Teriyaki Sauce

Flip the salmon fillets carefully using a spatula. Brush a generous amount of teriyaki sauce on top of the fillets. Grill for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  7. 7

    Serve

Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a minute. Serve the grilled salmon with the rice and salad on the side. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the salad for added flavor.
