Pork Katsu

Method

Pork Katsu Preparation

1

Prepare the Pork

Start by seasoning the pork loin pieces with salt and black pepper on both sides.

2

Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.

3

Bread the Pork

Dredge each pork piece in the flour, shaking off any excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Cook the Pork Katsu

Carefully add the breaded pork pieces to the hot oil, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Tonkatsu Sauce Preparation

6

Mix Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and Dijon mustard. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.

7

Serve

Slice the cooked pork katsu and serve with the tonkatsu sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.
