Wontons

Method

Prepare Wontons

  1. 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  2. 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.

  3. 3

Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Bring the bottom corners together and seal with a bit more water to create the traditional wonton shape.

  4. 4

Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling until all 6 wontons are formed.

  5. 5

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Gently drop in the wontons and cook for 4–5 minutes, or until they float to the top and are fully cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.

Make House Special Sauce

  1. 6

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, chili oil with sediment, black vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, scallions, and toasted sesame seeds until well combined.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 7

Place the cooked wontons in a serving bowl. Spoon the house special sauce generously over the wontons.

  2. 8

Garnish with additional scallions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve warm.
