Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than the burger buns, as they will shrink while cooking.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may want to add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired level of doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Toppings

While the burgers are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into thick slices.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, a slice of tomato, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Cap with the top half of the bun.
