Method
Preparing the Ingredients
- 1
Prepare the Turkey
If using leftover turkey, shred it into bite-sized pieces. If freshly roasted, allow the turkey to cool and then pull apart into strands.
- 2
Make the Stuffing
If you don't have homemade stuffing, prepare store-bought stuffing according to package instructions. Allow it to cool.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 3
Slice the Bread
Take the sub sandwich loaf and carefully slice it open lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- 4
Layer the Ingredients
Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise evenly on the bottom half of the bread. Next, layer the slow-roasted turkey evenly over the mayo.
- 5
Add Cranberry Sauce
On top of the turkey, spoon 4 tablespoons of cranberry sauce, spreading it evenly over the turkey.
- 6
Add Stuffing
Spoon 1 cup of homemade stuffing on top of the cranberry sauce, packing it gently but evenly.
- 7
Season to Taste
Sprinkle salt and black pepper to taste over the stuffing layer.
- 8
Close the Sandwich
Fold the top half of the sub bread over the fillings and press down gently to hold everything together.
