Method

Sides Preparation

  1. 1

    French Fries

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips. Rinse them in cold water, then pat dry. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

  2. 2

    Garden Salad

Wash and chop the lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots. In a large bowl, combine the chopped vegetables. Drizzle with olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper to taste. Toss well to combine.

  3. 3

    Onion Rings

Slice the onions into rings and soak them in buttermilk for about 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, and seasonings. Dredge the soaked onion rings in the flour mixture, then deep fry in hot oil at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until creamy.

Drinks Preparation

  1. 5

    Cola

Pour the cola into a glass and serve ice cold.

  2. 6

    Lemonade

Mix fresh lemon juice, sugar, and water in a pitcher. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Serve over ice.

  3. 7

    Iced Tea

Brew tea bags in hot water for 5-7 minutes. Add sugar to taste while still warm. Chill in the refrigerator and serve over ice.

  4. 8

    Sparkling Water

Serve chilled sparkling water in a glass. Optionally, add a slice of lemon or lime for flavor.
