Espresso

Steamed Milk

Optional Additives

Method

Preparing Espresso

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew 2 shots of espresso. Ensure the coffee grounds are finely ground and tamped evenly for optimal extraction.

Steaming Milk

  1. 2

    Steam the Milk

Pour 1 cup of whole milk into a steaming pitcher. Use the steam wand of the espresso machine to steam the milk until it reaches a temperature of around 150°F (65°C). Create a creamy microfoam by angling the steam wand slightly and incorporating air into the milk.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Espresso and Steamed Milk

In a large coffee mug, pour the brewed espresso shots. Slowly add the steamed milk over the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon to allow the liquid milk to mix first. Once combined, spoon the foam on top of the latte.

Adding Optional Flavorings

  1. 4

    Customize Your Latte

If desired, add sugar, vanilla syrup, or cocoa powder to taste. Stir gently to combine and enhance the flavor of your latte.
