Method
Guacamole Preparation
- 1
Mash the Avocados
Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired consistency (smooth or chunky).
- 2
Add Lime Juice
Pour the lime juice over the mashed avocados. This will not only add flavor but also prevent the avocados from browning.
- 3
Mix in Remaining Ingredients
Add the diced tomatoes, finely chopped jalapeños, salsa verde, chopped cilantro, and salt. Stir gently to combine all ingredients, ensuring not to over-mix.
Tortilla Chips Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Tortillas
Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles (four or six pieces per tortilla).
- 5
Fry the Chips
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the tortilla triangles in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 6
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried tortilla chips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
