Preparing the Beef Patties

Forming the Patties
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 4 ounces each). Form each portion into a loose ball without compacting too much.

Cooking the Patties
Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Toasting the Buns
Toast the burger buns on the skillet until golden brown.
Assembling the Burger

Spreading the Mayo
Spread 1 tablespoon of Duke's mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

Building the Burger
Place one beef patty on each bun, followed by fried jalapeños, fried onions, and a generous spoonful of salsa roja.

Adding the Optional Bacon
If desired, add 2 slices of cooked bacon on top of each burger.

Top with the other half of the bun and serve with your choice of sides.
