Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet, using the bacon drippings, add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper. In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the steak over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare. Adjust time for desired doneness. Once cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Hoagie Rolls

Slice the hoagie rolls open lengthwise. Spread the mayonnaise evenly on both sides of the rolls.

  2. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each roll, layer the sautéed onions, followed by the sliced steak. Place 2 slices of white American cheese on top of the steak, allowing it to melt slightly from the heat of the steak.

  3. 6

    Add Bacon and Veggies

Top each sandwich with crispy bacon, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices. Close the sandwiches with the top half of the hoagie rolls.

  4. 7

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half if desired and serve immediately while warm.
