Method
Prepare the Fries
- 1
Cook the Fries
Preheat your oven or fryer to the temperature specified on the package of the frozen French fries. Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet if using the oven, or place them in the fryer basket.
- 2
Fry or Bake
Cook the fries according to the package instructions until they are golden brown and crispy, usually about 20-25 minutes in the oven or 5-7 minutes in a fryer.
Prepare the Toppings
- 3
Heat the Pastrami
In a skillet over medium heat, add the sliced pastrami and cook for about 5 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Mix the Coleslaw
In a medium bowl, combine the coleslaw mix with half of the Russian dressing. Toss until well coated.
Assemble the Capastrami Fries
- 5
Layer the Fries
Once the fries are cooked, remove them from the oven or fryer and place them on a serving platter or individual plates.
- 6
Add Pastrami and Cheese
Top the fries generously with the heated pastrami and sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the top.
- 7
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled fries under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly, watching closely to avoid burning.
- 8
Finish with Coleslaw and Dressing
Remove from the oven and top with the coleslaw mixture. Drizzle the remaining Russian dressing over the top. Serve immediately while hot!
