Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Beef
Season the American Wagyu beef generously with black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side until it reaches your desired doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C). Once cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- 2
Slice the Beef
After resting, thinly slice the Wagyu beef against the grain to ensure tenderness. Set aside.
- 3
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on the inside of each baguette half. Layer the sliced Wagyu beef evenly on the bottom half of the baguette, then place 2 slices of Swiss cheese on top of the beef.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Heat the assembly in the skillet over low heat or place it under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Be careful not to burn the bread.
- 6
Serve
Close the sandwich with the top half of the baguette. Serve the French Dip with a side of au jus for dipping and enjoy your indulgent meal!
