Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Thinly slice the American Wagyu beef. Slice the onion and mushrooms, making sure they are uniform in thickness for even cooking.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent. Add the sliced mushrooms and continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are soft and any released moisture has evaporated. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove the vegetable mixture from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook the Wagyu Beef

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and increase the heat to medium-high. Add the sliced Wagyu beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 4

    Combine and Add Cheese

Once the beef is cooked, return the vegetable mixture to the skillet and stir to combine. Lay the slices of white American cheese over the beef and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid for about 1-2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Cheesesteak

Split the hoagie rolls lengthwise, without cutting all the way through. Spoon the Wagyu beef and vegetable mixture into each roll, ensuring even distribution of the melted cheese. Serve immediately.
