Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cut the filet mignon into bite-sized cubes, slice the mushrooms, chop the onion, and mince the garlic.

  2. 2

    Sear the Beef

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the cubed filet mignon, season with salt and black pepper, and sear until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are softened and browned, about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Make the Demi-Glace

Pour in the red wine and beef broth. Bring to a simmer, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Let it reduce for about 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.

  6. 6

    Combine and Finish

Return the seared filet mignon to the skillet, stirring to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the tenderloin tips hot, accompanied by warm pita bread.
