Crab Cakes

Method

Crab Cakes Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped parsley, beaten egg, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Cakes

Shape the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick. You should get approximately 8 crab cakes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Chill the Cakes

Cover the crab cakes with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
