Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, cumin, and paprika. Sear the pork on all sides until browned.

  2. 2

    Add Aromatics

Remove the pork from the pot and set aside. In the same pot, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Braise the Pork

Return the pork to the pot. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for 4-6 hours until the pork is tender and easily shreds.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the pot and shred it using two forks. Mix in the BBQ sauce with the shredded pork.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

On a plate, layer the shredded pork, shredded lettuce, and pico de gallo. Top with potato sticks for added crunch.
