Aj Jus
Horsey Sauce
Method
Preparing the Prime Rib
- 1
Seasoning the Meat
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the olive oil all over the prime rib and then generously apply the seasoning mixture, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
- 2
Roasting the Prime Rib
Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting rack in a shallow pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, about 1 hour. Remove from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
- 3
Slicing the Meat
After resting, slice the prime rib into small pieces that fit the slider buns.
Making the Aj Jus
- 4
Preparing the Aj Jus
In a saucepan, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- 5
Thickening the Jus
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly add this to the simmering broth, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
Making the Horsey Sauce
- 6
Combining the Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, prepared horseradish, and lemon juice until well combined. Adjust seasoning with more horseradish if desired.
Assembling the Sliders
- 7
Building the Sliders
Place a slice of prime rib on the bottom half of each slider bun. Top with a spoonful of aj jus and finish with the top half of the bun.
