Scone Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Add the unsalted butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

- 5
Form the Dough
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Shape the Scones
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough a few times until it comes together. Pat it into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut into wedges or use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds.
- 7
Bake the Scones
Place the scones on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
