Method

Preparation of Paneer

  1. 1

    Cutting Paneer

Cut the paneer into bite-sized cubes, approximately 1-inch pieces.

Batter Preparation

  1. 2

    Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, salt, and ajwain. Mix well.

  2. 3

    Adding Water

Gradually add water to the dry mixture while whisking to form a smooth batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Frying Pakoras

  1. 4

    Heating Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.

  2. 5

    Coating Paneer

Dip each paneer cube into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

  3. 6

    Frying

Carefully place the coated paneer cubes into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 7

    Draining Oil

Using a slotted spoon, remove the pakoras from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Presentation

Serve hot Paneer Pakoras with mint chutney or tamarind chutney for dipping.
