Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Crust Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 0.5 cup of sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool while preparing the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Beat Cream Cheese

In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Mix

Gradually add 1 cup of granulated sugar and continue to beat until well incorporated.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Sour Cream and Vanilla

Add sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  4. 8

    Add Eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 9

    Add Flour

Sprinkle in the all-purpose flour and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the batter.

  6. 10

    Pour into Crust

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Baking the Cheesecake

  1. 11

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake in the oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center has a slight jiggle.

  2. 12

    Cool and Chill

Once baked, turn off the oven and crack the oven door, allowing the cheesecake to cool for 1 hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Topping (Optional)

  1. 13

    Prepare Topping

If desired, top the cheesecake with sliced strawberries and drizzle with strawberry sauce just before serving.
