Method
Fish Marinade Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Fish
In a bowl, combine the fish fillets, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, and garam masala. Mix well to coat the fish evenly. Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Batter Preparation
- 2
Prepare the Batter
In another bowl, mix the chickpea flour, rice flour, water, red chili powder, salt, ajwain, and baking soda. Whisk until you achieve a smooth batter consistency. Set aside.
Chutney Preparation
- 3
Make the Chutney
In a blender, combine mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chili, lemon juice, and salt. Blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning as necessary. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
Frying the Fish
- 4
Heat Oil and Fry Fish
In a deep pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, dip each marinated fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and then carefully place it in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove the fish and drain on paper towels.
