Method
Preparing the Burger Patties
- 1
Mixing the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Forming the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
Grilling the Burgers
- 3
Preheating the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F or 190-200°C).
- 4
Grilling the Patties
Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- 5
Adding the Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
Toasting the Buns
- 6
Toasting
While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the brioche buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until they are golden brown.
Assembling the Burgers
- 7
- 8
Finishing Touch
Place the top half of the bun on the assembled burger and serve immediately.
