Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and dried rosemary to create a marinade. Place the top sirloin steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

While the steak is marinating, preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it’s hot.

  2. 3

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the steak on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer for best results; aim for 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.

  3. 4

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, during the last minute of cooking, add a tablespoon of butter on top of the steak for added richness. Once cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
