Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, dried rosemary, and dried thyme. Whisk until well blended.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the top sirloin steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Oven

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes. Grill the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an added burst of flavor.
