Pork Ribs

Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Start by rinsing the pork ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, brown sugar, and liquid smoke. Rub this seasoning blend all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Ribs

Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours to allow the flavors to penetrate.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 120°C (250°F).

  2. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 6 hours.

  3. 6

    Prepare Barbecue Sauce

While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 7

    Glaze the Ribs

After the initial 6 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap them. Brush the ribs generously with the prepared barbecue sauce.

  5. 8

    Finish Cooking

Return the glazed ribs to the oven and increase the temperature to 150°C (300°F). Bake for an additional 1 hour, brushing with more sauce every 20 minutes.

  6. 9

    Rest and Serve

Once done, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
