Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the Certified Angus ground beef, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grilling the Patties

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each one. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Toasting the Buns

While the patties are finishing up, cut the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
