Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it's hot enough for the lava cake.

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Melt Butter
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Combine All Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Baking

Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.

Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.

Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1-2 minutes before serving.
