Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice Vegetables

Thinly slice the onion and both bell peppers.

  2. 2

    Prepare Hoagie Rolls

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers, sautéing until they are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Heat Roast Beef

Add the thinly sliced roast beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir until the beef is heated through, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 5

    Make Beer Cheese Sauce

In a separate saucepan over medium heat, combine the beer and cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and smooth. Gradually add the sharp cheddar cheese while stirring continuously. Add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to taste. Continue to stir until the cheese sauce is smooth and creamy.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Cheesesteaks

Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each hoagie roll. Drizzle the beer cheese sauce generously over the top.

  2. 7

    Toast

If desired, place the assembled cheesesteaks under a broiler for 2-3 minutes to toast the rolls and melt the cheese slightly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Serve the windmill cheesesteaks hot, with extra beer cheese sauce on the side if desired.
