Method

Preparation of Marinade

  1. 1

    Make the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, dried rosemary, and dried thyme. Whisk together until well combined.

Marinating the Steak

  1. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the top sirloin steaks in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steaks from the marinade and allow excess marinade to drip off. Place the steaks on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Steak

Slice the steak against the grain and serve on a plate. Optionally garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
