Burger Patties

Burger Buns

Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two equal parts and shape each part into a ball. Gently flatten each ball into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 3

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. You may optionally toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer shredded lettuce, followed by the grilled patty with melted cheese. Add diced onions and diced pickles on top of the patty. Finally, drizzle 1000 Island dressing over the toppings.

  3. 5

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on each burger and press down gently to adhere all toppings together.
