Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, blackening seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions (about 1/3 pound each) and shape them into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the thick-cut bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

Cook the Burger

  1. 4

    Blacken the Patties

In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Place the burger patties in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  2. 5

    Add Gorgonzola

In the last minute of cooking, place a generous amount of gorgonzola cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt, about 1-2 minutes.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the cheese is melting, split the brioche buns and toast them lightly in the skillet or toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the burger patty topped with melted gorgonzola and two slices of crispy bacon. Add tomato and pickles if desired, then top with the other half of the bun.
