Preparation of Au Jus

Simmer the Au Jus
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt to taste.
Assembling the French Dip

Prepare the Hoagie Rolls
While the Au Jus is simmering, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.

Layer the Roast Beef
Fill each hoagie roll with a generous portion of sliced roast beef.

Add the Swiss Cheese
Top the roast beef with 2 slices of Swiss cheese per hoagie.

Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled hoagies on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve the French Dip
Serve the hot French Dip sandwiches with a small bowl of Au Jus on the side for dipping. Optionally, spread Dijon mustard on the rolls and add pickles if desired.
