Cooking Prawns
- 1
Prepare the Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.
- 2
Cook the Prawns
Once the water is boiling, add 0.5 pounds of tiger prawns to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the prawns turn pink and opaque.
- 3
Chill the Prawns
Using a slotted spoon, remove the prawns from the boiling water and transfer them to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5-10 minutes.
- 4
Drain and Serve
Once chilled, drain the prawns and arrange them on a serving platter.
Making Cocktail Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish sauce, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of hot sauce.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Stir well to combine all ingredients. Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper to taste.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the cocktail sauce to a small serving bowl and serve alongside the chilled prawns.
