1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

2. Cream the Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

3. Combine Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs one at a time to the butter and sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. Mix the Batter

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and finish with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

5. Preheat and Prepare Baking Pan

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

6. Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Cool and Serve

Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
