Juicing the Lemons
Roll the fresh lemons on a countertop to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and use a citrus juicer or hand squeeze to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have approximately 1 cup of lemon juice.

Mixing the Sugar
In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Adding Water
Add 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher with the lemon juice and sugar mixture. Stir thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.

Chilling
Add 2 cups of ice cubes to the pitcher to chill the lemonade. If desired, place the pitcher in the refrigerator to cool further for about 30 minutes.
Serving

Garnishing
Serve the lemonade in glasses filled with ice. Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon and a few fresh mint leaves for added flavor and presentation.
