Preparing the Calamari
1. Slice the Calamari Steaks
If not already done, slice the calamari steaks into strips about 1 inch wide.
2. Prepare the Breading Station
Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika; the second with beaten eggs; and the third with bread crumbs.
3. Coat the Calamari
Dredge each calamari strip in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
Cooking the Calamari
4. Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
5. Grill the Calamari
Brush the grill grates with olive oil. Place the breaded calamari strips on the grill, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
6. Remove and Rest
