Preparation

    Cook the Pasta

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

    Cook the Bacon

    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Set aside.

Making the Cheese Sauce

    Make the Roux

    In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the flour and stir for about 1 minute until bubbly.

    Add Milk

    Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and bubbles.

    Add Cheeses and Seasoning

    Remove from heat and add the cheddar, Gruyère, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Stir until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Combining Ingredients

    Combine Pasta and Cheese Sauce

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked elbow macaroni with the cheese sauce. Mix well to coat all the pasta.

    Add Bacon

    Gently fold in the crispy bacon into the macaroni and cheese mixture.

Baking

    Prepare for Baking

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.

    Make the Topping

    In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.

    Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
