Prepare the Broth

Combine Water and Dashi
In a medium pot, add 4 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of dashi. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Add Miso
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low. In a separate bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of miso paste with a small amount of hot broth until smooth. Then, stir this mixture back into the pot.
Prepare the Vegetables

Soak Seaweed
In a small bowl, soak 2 tablespoons of dried wakame in warm water for about 10 minutes, or until rehydrated. Drain and set aside.

Prepare Tofu
While the seaweed is soaking, cube 1 cup of firm tofu into bite-sized pieces.

Chop Green Onions
Slice 2 stalks of green onions thinly, separating the white and green parts.
Combine and Serve

Add Tofu and Seaweed
Once the miso has dissolved in the broth, add the cubed tofu and rehydrated seaweed to the pot. Allow to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Just before serving, stir in the sliced green onions, reserving some of the green parts for garnish.
