Chocolate Lava Cake
- 1
Prepare the Ramekins
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with flour, tapping out the excess. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet.
- 2
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.

- 4
Combine Mixtures
To the melted chocolate mixture, add the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully incorporated. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- 5
Fill Ramekins
Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.
- 6
Bake
Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a dessert plate. Serve immediately with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
