Beef Tenderloin

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Beef Tenderloin

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

Take the beef tenderloin out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Rub the beef tenderloin with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Make sure to coat all sides evenly.

  3. 3

    Sear the Beef

In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the tenderloin and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.

  4. 4

    Add Aromatics

Add the garlic cloves and fresh rosemary to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the beef while cooking for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Finish Cooking

Reduce the heat to medium and cook, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare (about 15-20 minutes).

  6. 6

    Rest the Beef

Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 8

    Cook the Potatoes

Add the garlic cloves to the pot with the potatoes. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 9

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 10

    Mash the Potatoes

Using a potato masher, mash until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
