Preparation of Base Ingredients

1

Infuse the Alcohol

In a clean glass jar, combine the grain alcohol or vodka with the vanilla beans, citrus zest, and cinnamon stick. Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks. Shake the jar gently every few days to help the flavors meld.

2

Make the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool before using.

Finalizing the Tuaca

3

Combine Ingredients

After 2 weeks, strain the infused alcohol through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove solids. In a clean jar, combine the strained infusion with the cooled simple syrup.

4

Add Spices

Add cloves and nutmeg to the mixture. Seal the jar and let it sit for an additional week to allow the spices to infuse the liqueur.

5

Bottle and Enjoy

After a week, strain the mixture again to remove the spices. Bottle your homemade Tuaca and enjoy it chilled, over ice, or in cocktails.
