Preparation

1

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it is hot when you place the batter inside.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

Mix Wet Ingredients

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine and Flavor

4

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5

Add Cocoa and Chocolate Chips

Add the cocoa powder and chocolate chips to the batter and gently fold them in until evenly distributed.

Bake and Prepare Topping

6

Bake the Batter

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7

Prepare the Topping

While the cake is baking, whip the heavy cream in a bowl until it holds stiff peaks. Gradually add the powdered sugar, continuing to whip until well combined.

Serve

8

Cool and Top

Once the cake is done baking, allow it to cool for 10 minutes before topping with the whipped cream and garnishing with cherries.

9

Slice and Enjoy

Slice into squares and serve. Enjoy your Fratello!
