Method
Brewing the Coffee
- 1
Combine Coffee Grounds and Water
In a large jar or pitcher, combine 1 cup of coarse coffee grounds with 4 cups of cold water. Stir gently to ensure all the coffee grounds are saturated.
- 2
Steeping
Cover the jar or pitcher with a lid or plastic wrap and let it steep at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor will be.
- 3
Straining
After steeping, strain the coffee mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or a coffee filter into another clean jar or pitcher. Discard the coffee grounds.
Serving the Cold Brew
- 4
Serve Cold
Pour the cold brew coffee over ice in a glass. If desired, add milk or cream, sugar or sweetener, and vanilla extract to taste.
- 5
Store Leftovers
Store any leftover cold brew coffee in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Serve chilled or over ice.
