Method
Preparing the Ribs
- 1
Marinate the Ribs
In a large bowl, combine cola, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until sugar is dissolved. Add pork ribs, ensuring they are fully submerged in the marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Braising the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove ribs from the marinade and place them in a roasting pan. Pour the marinade over the ribs. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and braise in the oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours until the ribs are tender.
Making the Sweet Heat Asian Barbeque Sauce

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, honey, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame seeds. Stir until well mixed and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.

Pickle the Onions
In a jar, combine sliced red onion, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir to dissolve the sugar and salt. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. For best results, refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
