Dry Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot enough to bake the cake evenly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pans

Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans to prevent sticking. You can also line the bottoms with parchment paper for extra protection.

Mixing the Batter

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well blended.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Boiling Water

Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this is normal and helps keep the cake moist.

Baking

  1. 6

    Pour Batter into Pans

Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared cake pans.

  2. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  3. 8

    Cool the Cakes

Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
