Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted unsalted butter until smooth.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if there are still a few lumps. Gently fold in the crumbled bacon.
Frying
- 5
Heat Oil
In a large, deep pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium-high heat.
- 6
Fry the Beignets
Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- 7
Drain and Cool
Using a slotted spoon, remove the beignets from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain.

Add Toppings
Once the beignets are slightly cooled, dust them generously with powdered sugar and drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
